These are our basic principles for this:
- Simplicity is key!
- The solution should be practical, not just following a basic understanding of a standard or set of bureaucratic workflows/templates.
- The solution should be completely tailored to the company. Canned solutions never work.
- The change should be designed, planned, and implemented gradually, instead of being done through a big bang. This enables us make more adjustments and tailoring, and to apply the feedback from the system.
- The solution should be designed in a team, with members from both Management Plaza, and your company. This results in a better outcome by incorporating your staff knowledge about the system, and also trains them in this area to continue improving the system after we are done with the initial setup and away.
The solution depends on your company, and is not always focused on the project management system. For example, we usually realize that the main source of problems with the projects is within the portfolio management system or project delivery system, instead of the project management system.
We’ll work together to find all the problems, use them to find the root causes, and to plan for improving the most critical areas.
We cover the following areas:
- Portfolio Management systems: selecting and resourcing all projects and programs to maximize the benefits and value in the company.
- Program Management systems: coordinating multiple related projects that have been defined to create a single goal/outcome.
- Project Management systems: ensuring that projects are delivered on time, on budget, and within the predefined quality tolerances.
- Project delivery systems: e.g. Agile or Waterfall for the IT development projects
